Hello! The end of the year is quickly approaching. As you know we wanted to hold an event to promote our local animal shelter and get the word out about adoptable animals in the area. However, because of our lack of time we will not be able to plan the event as well as we were hoping. Instead we have gotten in contact with our local Petco and are hoping to set up a table at their next adoption day. We would like to set up a table where our team will be their with dog treats, panflets, and information on our local animal shelter. We think this will have a greater audience because many people already know about Petco's adoption days on the first Saturday of every month. We will update you with more information when we have it, regarding this potential event. We have also started working on our presentations to present to our community. We are very excited to see the overall impact we will have on the community and to reflect on what we have accomplished. Please keep looking for future updates!

Hello! As we are approaching the end of our twenty time projects, my group is starting to work on our presentation for the end of the year. We are very excited to start planning and figuring out how we are going to present what we have been doing, to our community. We believe that our community will greatly appreciate our project and be interesting in joining in our efforts to promote our local animal shelter. Because we have a small community, most everyone knows everyone. This is a good thing because if one person tells their friend about our project and that friend tells their friend, the animal shelter will be getting tons of exposure. We want to promote the animal shelter but we also want to get dogs adopted, they go hand in hand. We have had a blast working on this project. We've bonded over our love for animals and have faced struggles. Some of those include time, which we're running out of. About a month before presentations we are so excited and nervous and cannot wait to update you furthermore about how our presentations go and how the community responds to our event we hope to hold in the spring. Thank you for reading out blogs and continuing to support our efforts! As mentioned in the previous blog post, we have come up with many new ideas for our project and to promote our local animal shelter. We have decided on trying to hold an event this spring that we use to promote awareness. Instead of raising funds and donating, we have instead decided to try harder to promote awareness. We believe with more awareness, donations and funds will come on their own. We have not finished working out the details but we are very excited. With only five weeks left until we present our projects and what we have accomplished to the community, we are working hard to get everything worked out. We are excited to present this to our community who we believe will be interested in what we have to say. We are so excited and hope you are too! Thank you for reading our blogs and visiting our website. Please continue to check in for our weekly blog posts.
Hello! Me and my group have been working on coming up with new ideas for our presentations at the end of the year. We have come up with some good ideas but have yet put them into action. With all school activities, out of school activities, and personal activities, we don't have much time to work on the project by ourselves, let alone with our whole group. We will be updating you in the future on what the ideas are and how we plan to execute them. We have come up with an idea to hold an event and will update you with details later. We are very excited to start putting our ideas into action and are so thankful for the continued support. We apologize for the lack of action taking place with the project but hope to create more time in the future to devote to this project.
New year, same project. To recap, during 2017 we made slow progress on our project. It was largely planning based and not much action took place. We spent most of our time planning and organizing. At the start of 2018 everyone is making new year’s resolutions, I make them as well. However, for this project me and my team will be making new year’s resolutions as well. Individually we are coming up with new year’s resolutions to better help us with our projects. If you would like to read about my partners you can check their blogs as well. My new year’s resolution is going to be making ‘project work time’ a priority. I am going to be intentional about using every Friday in class as a time to organize, regroup, and work on the tasks at hand. I also want to prioritize work time for our projects outside of school. Meaning, if I say I will be able to meet up at a certain time, a certain day, I will be there no matter what. I think accomplishing these resolutions will better my team and our project. I can’t wait to continue to share with you the progress I make on completing my new year’s resolutions and our project.
We are currently five weeks into our 20 time projects. At this time we are making plans to get together and plan the end of the year presentation and elevator pitches. We have yet to make the dog toys because our schedules have proved to be a major conflict. With partners, sick and out of town, getting time to work together has been a major struggle. We need to get in touch with the local animal shelter to find a date and time where we can drop of toys and other items as well as get video footage and pictures of us with the dogs and delivering the items. We cannot wait to deliver the items and shower the animals with the love they deserve. We are in the process of making our elevator pitches and planning the month of December. We are most excited for the actual making of the items and delivery. If you would like to know more please feel free to contact us using the page on the website.
There have been some rising concerns with our project. Time is at the top of the list. With all our schedules, full of prior obligations it has become immensely aware to us that we must be more organized, to finish this project with the time limit we are given. We made plans to meet on Wednesday, to create dog toys and film videos. The paws for a cause YouTube channel is also an obligation we have. To keep it going and active we may start to pre-film videos. This will help with our time concerns and give us one less thing to worry about. With Christmas quickly approaching our schedules will not slow down. We would love to have dog toys made and delivered some time in December for the dogs. We all love receiving gifts during Christmas time, we believe the dogs deserve the same thing. Christmas is the perfect time to get into the Christmas spirit and be a shining light in the dog shelters, where the dogs don’t get the amount of love they deserve.
I would like to update you all on our project. We have been trying to plan days to meet, to put our plan into action. However, our schedules are becoming a concern and may put us in a time crunch. We have tried to meet on Sunday, however, unexpected events occurred and we were unable to meet. Our next planned day to work on our project is Wednesday. On this day we will start making the dog toys and hopefully film, edit, and upload a video. We have decided, to keep this project on schedule and organized, we will be taking out the ‘Dog Barkery’ portion of our website. On our YouTube channel, we will still be making DIY dog treats, to see those, you will need to go to our YouTube channel instead of our website blog. Our passion for shelter dogs in the Riverbend area has not changed and we are still very passionate about this project.
Hello! This is going to be an update on how the project is going and what is too come. To recap, me and my partners have gotten together to film our first video and continue to plan the rest of the project. We have contacted our local animal shelter about donations and are getting ready to start making the dog toys, beds, leashes, etc. There will be videos to come on how to make the DIY dog toys. We have also started to plan the recipes and videos that will go up on our YouTube channel. Our next steps will be to get together to start pre-filming videos to upload and getting together the supplies needed. With winter, including Christmas quickly approaching we believe that the animals in our local shelter deserve to get presents as well. We have not encountered many challenges but will update you of any to come. We cannot wait to deliver the donations and continue with this project!
Welcome! My name is April and I am a ninth grader at Civic Memorial High School. I have two dogs of my own, Buster a two-year-old beagle and Penny an almost one year old miniature dauchand. I also ride horses and have been an equestrian for five years. Me and my friends Mattie and Megan have started this project to try and make a difference within our community. We have started this website where you can find mine, as well as my partners blog’s. On this website, you can also find our group blog and YouTube channel. We have decided to start this project and get connected with our local animal shelter to help the pets in the shelters who may not always get the attention they deserve. We have decided we are going to make toys, beds, blankets, collars, and leashes for our local animal shelter. We also know, that like humans, many dogs have food allergies. We have decided to dedicate a part of our project and website to dogs with food allergies. We have created a youtube channel to document our project. We will post videos on that channel including vlogs, how-to’s, recipes, DIYs and more. I alongside my partners am very passionate about this project. I love dogs, cats, horses, and all animals big or small. I can’t wait to get started with this project and see the impact it has on the community. This is my blog and I will continue to post weekly updates on how our project is going. If you have questions, comments, or concerns please feel free to contact me or my partners using the contact tab on this website. I look forward to completing this project and sharing it with the community.
